You may not know him, be he knows your vehicle! Joel is one of our Auto Technicians working on your vehicle. He’s also often found in the courtesy shuttle helping with vehicle pickups or vehicle returns. It’s time to get know Joel a little better!
Position: Auto Technician
Tell us about your family: I’ve been married for a little over a year now.
How long have you worked at Pape Automotive? A little over two years.
How long have you been a part of the Veneta/Elmira community? I have always lived in the Eugene/Springfield area but I moved out to Crow a few months ago.
What’s your favorite thing about the Veneta/Elmira community? I like living in the country, it’s more peaceful than in town and the fresh air. People are friendlier and seemed more laid back, just seem to enjoy life a little bit more.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Broadway Grill is my favorite local restaurant by far.
What was your first vehicle? 1998 GMC Sierra pickup, old big block and thought I was the coolest kid on the block with a truck that got 7 mpg.
What’s something you think everyone should know about their vehicle? Vehicles are more commonly the second biggest investments we make as far as materialistic things behind a house. They are our lifeline in so many ways to be connected to the world, commuting, seeing family. It’s something that most people daily rely on to do a lot of things for them. Being that it’s something we all rely on heavily, it is something we will have to continually invest in and take care of, just like a house or our bodies. When something is wrong we go to the doctor and take care of it. When a check engine light comes on, you take it in to get it taken care of. Something that we shouldn’t be afraid to take care of but there is always the occasional exception.
